Good News | The Li Jie Workstation was officially inaugurated at SRIBS Group
On the morning of August 16th, the unveiling ceremony of the Academician Workstation of Academician Li Jie and the Academician Report Meeting were grandly held at SRIBS Group. The ceremony was attended by Academician Li Jie of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhao Xianzhong, Vice President of Tongji University, Han Zhiqiang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, Chen Dong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Liu Qianwei, Chief Engineer of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Dai Dunwei, Second-Level Inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, as well as leaders from the Science and Technology Information Department of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Xuhui District Science and Technology Commission, and Xuhui District Association for Science and Technology. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Jijie, Party Secretary and Chairman of the SRIBS Group, Zhu Lei, Deputy Party Secretary and President of the SRIBS Group, other members of the SRIBS Group's leadership team, key members of Academician Li Jie's team from Tongji University, senior management, researchers, heads of functional departments, leaders of the SRIBS Group's subsidiaries, and key members of the SRIBS Group's Engineering Reliability Research Center. The event was hosted by Zhu Lei.
Wang Jijie and Zhao Xianzhong delivered speeches on behalf of SRIBS Group and Tongji University, respectively. Wang Jijie presented Academician Li Jie with the appointment letter for the Chief Scientist of the Academician Workstation. Li Jie, Zhao Xianzhong, Han Zhiqiang, Chen Dong, Wang Jijie, and Zhu Lei jointly unveiled the plaque for the Academician Workstation. Li Xiangmin, a member of the SRIBS Group's Party Committee and Vice President, provided an overview of the construction of the Academician Workstation. Liu Qianwei and Dai Dunwei, representing the industry regulatory departments, expressed their expectations for the future work of the Academician Workstation.
In his speech, Wang Jijie pointed out that the unveiling of Academician Li Jie’s workstation is a milestone event in the development of SRIBS Group, marking a significant step forward in the Group's efforts to build a leading industry innovation platform and cultivate high-level innovative talents. After the establishment of the workstation, the SRIBS Group will fully leverage the high-end intellectual resources of Academician Li Jie and his team to drive innovation and continuously enhance SRIBS’s core competitiveness in providing system services for urban renewal and safety resilience, thereby contributing to refined urban management and sustainable development.
Zhao Xianzhong stated that Tongji University and SRIBS Group have had a long-standing and deep collaboration. The establishment of the Academician Workstation represents a powerful alliance between the research foundation, professional capabilities, and industry strengths of SRIBS Group and the technical and talent advantages of Academician Li Jie and his team. The workstation will focus on key technological research and development in areas such as engineering structures and municipal infrastructure, urban renewal, and public safety. It will drive the upgrading and renewal of traditional industries, achieving greater success in industry-university-research cooperation and talent cultivation.
Liu Qianwei stated that the research conducted at the Academician Workstation aligns with the research and practical needs proposed at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China for building livable, resilient, and smart cities. He expressed hope that through the effective operation of the Academician Workstation, in-depth research and exploration will continue to address the major technological needs in the field of housing and urban-rural development at both the national and Shanghai levels, driving the transformation and application of scientific research achievements.
Dai Dunwei expressed that Academician Li Jie's team and SRIBS Group have made significant contributions to advancing technological progress and industry development in the field of transportation construction. He hopes that the Academician Workstation will become a hub of technological innovation, attracting and gathering more outstanding talents, and injecting new vitality and momentum into the field of transportation technology.
In his concluding remarks, Zhu Lei stated that the SRIBS Group will focus on the Academician Workstation as a central hub, fully integrating internal and external resources to shape the technological image of the SRIBS Group and build core strategic strengths, actively participating in both domestic and international competition. He also emphasized that the SRIBS will closely align with its new round of innovation and development action plans, further implementing reform goals, stimulating internal drive, and promoting the transformation and upgrading of the SRIBS's industries and business models. This will create new productive forces and continuously contribute the strength to urban development.
In his overview of the construction of the Academician Workstation, Li Xiangmin emphasized that the SRIBS Group has consistently adhered to a dual focus on scientific research and industrial application throughout its development. The SRIBS Group has made significant achievements in the field of disaster prevention and mitigation for engineering structures. The Academician Workstation will concentrate on three key areas: renovation design and reliability analysis of building structures, testing, monitoring, and reliability assessment of bridge engineering, and the expansion of application scenarios for lifeline engineering. Core technology research and development will be conducted in these areas, with digital technology empowering the creation of critical products, equipment, and system platforms.
After the unveiling ceremony, Academician Li Jie delivered a keynote report titled "Frontiers in Civil Engineering Research and Development" to the attendees. He introduced the background and positioning of the civil engineering discipline, its achievements, the challenges it faces, several research frontiers, and key scientific and technological issues. He also expressed his high hopes for the future development of civil engineering. Li Jie hopes that the Academician Workstation will engage in research projects and collaborative innovation in areas such as the development of engineering structure design theory, the evolution of structural performance and long-life design, disaster prevention in civil engineering, and lifeline engineering systems. He aims for the workstation to produce world-leading, high-level results, making even greater contributions to the future of civil engineering.
